This is a graduate training programme with a difference. It throws you straight in at the deep end of retailing and it covers every aspect of management; from store operations to financial administration, from logistics to property management.

Of course, you won’t be left to ‘sink-or-swim’, there is a full support system in place – a team that will do everything to make you a success and achieve your full potential. You’ll start in store and be managing one within weeks.

You’ll apply your leadership skills, commercial awareness, technical and management ability directly. And, as and when you’re ready, we’ll give you a multi-million pound area of 4 to 6 stores to run as if you owned it.

Here's what you can expect in your first 365 days

Day 1

Welcome to Aldi. You’ll be introduced to the rest of the regional team and say ‘hello’ to your Audi A4.

Weeks 1 -2

Induction: spend two weeks understanding the role with an experienced colleague.

Weeks 3 – 10

Store training: from stacking shelves to managing a store, your intensive training is really starting to kick in.

Weeks 11 – 22

Get your hands on the keys to your own store: all the detailed training will be done. So it’s time for you to show you can take control, smoothly run your own multi-million pound business and really motivate the team around you.

Weeks 23 - 24

And relax: take two weeks holiday, you’ll have earned it.

Weeks 25 - 26

Regional Office training: get to grips with the support operations our store network needs. Accounts, trading and vital business administration issues will be covered.

Weeks 27 - 28

Logistics department: you’ll be the key link between Logistics and Operations... so you need to understand both sides inside out.

Weeks 29 - 32

Area Manager training: this will be your food and drink... running a portfolio of stores, developing teams and leading them to exceptional levels of performance.

Week 33

It’s holiday time again.

Weeks 34 - 39

Area Manager training: from financial planning to store merchandising, you’re expanding the areas you’ve mastered.

Weeks 40 – 47

Area Cover: in at the deep end. You’ll take full control while colleagues are on holiday –really putting your new skills to the test.

Weeks 48 - 49

A bit more rest before the finish line.

Weeks 50 - 52

Review: we’ll take a long, hard, look at where you’ve got to at the end of your year. Your target is to be fully prepared to take responsibility for a group of stores.

During your first year, you’ll also attend courses on topics such as Health & Safety, Trading Law, Recruitment & Retention, the Aldi Management System & Influencing Skills. How far you rise after this, is up to you...

Our training programme above is a sample only and subject to change based on individual or company needs.
